We, Tony Mina and Amado Foronda, were both born and raised in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur. After graduating from Narvacan Provincial High School, we went to Manila and pursued our own careers. We are now both residing in the Maritime Provinces of Canada. Tony is currently residing in the Province of New Brunswick and Amado is currently residing in the Province of Nova Scotia.

Tony M. Mina - Webmaster

When my mother, the late Mrs. Natalia Mina, retired from teaching at the Narvacan Provincial High School, my late parents, Felipe Mina and Natalia Mina, moved to Manila in late 1960 to join my brother, Dr. Benedicto Mina, and I.

After finishing my degree, I enrolled in a two year computer course. When I completed my computer training, the school offered me a teaching position where I taught introductory to advanced computer courses until my wife Emy and I migrated to Canada in 1974. We arrived in Toronto, Ontario on Christmas Eve of 1974.

After working for several companies for 10 years, I decided to go on my own and be my own boss. I started a computer consulting and software development company in 1984 and have been in this business since.

Amado G. Foronda - Managing Editor

In Manila, I enrolled at the Far Eastern University leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Preparatory Medicine. In 1967 after finishing BS Premed., I shifted my ambition to become a Medical Technologist instead, which I am gratefull that I did. I enrolled at the Centro Escolar University, College of Medical Technology and graduated in 1969.

I moved on and opted to go to Philipps, Bukidnon in Mindanao and worked for Del Monte Philippines, as a Medical Technologist in their hospital. I came to Canada in 1972 and joined The IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia as an Immuno-hematology and Oncology Technologist. I am registered and licensed by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science and The Nova Scotia College of Medical Laboratory Technologists. I researched and developed a few laboratory Methods and now being used in our hospital.

I got married in 1976 to Myrla Sayat, originally from Lucena City, Quezon. She is an RN, and working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Halifax, Nova Scotia. Both of us were blessed with two daughters, Amy and Cherie, both finished their chosen careers and both working for the Government of Canada. Amy got married on June 30, 2007 and Cherie got married on May 29, 2004.
